When we first conceived the idea of the Pelican Café, we envisaged a place where people could come and enjoy not only the food from the world’s best larder, Scotland’s, but also provide people with a chance to try some of the best wines, spirits and beers available in the UK.We always intended to provide these at very affordable prices and with this in mind we decided to try something new.
To sell our drinks in two ways, at a retail price to takeaway, or alternatively dine in with a very reasonable corkage charge added.We thought this might help you to enjoy the best quality available, without the normally expensive price tag. We have over 200 wines on the list and over 40 wines by the glass, representing winemakers from all over the globe. From Jaboulet in the Rhone Valley to Antinori in Tuscany, from Leflaive in Burgundy to Gaffeliere in St. Emilion, from Casa Lapostolle in Chile to Yalumba in Australia, we have tried to show the best of the best and of course at a very reasonable mark up.
